This famille rose Five Relations garlic mouth vase was a modern imitation of a common Qing Qianlong Imperial ceramic vase form. It was made by the artist, He Yao, a National Level First Grade Technician, Intangible Cultural Property Holder, Senior Master of Arts and Crafts of the Jiangxi Province and Jingdezhen Ceramics Institute, Appraiser of Yuan, Ming and Qing Ceramics, born in 1985 and moved to Jingdezhen following his parents when he was a child. He showed strong interest in traditional ceramics production since he was a child. He started his career as an apprentice until he opened his own ceramic workshop. From learning to practice, and continued learning during working, he concentrated on the imitation of ancient Chinese ceramics. He was dedicated to the revival of the brilliance of the history of ancient Chinese ceramics.
In 2015, he founded the Jingdezhen Qicheng Ceramic Culture Co., Ltd.. The company produces the imitations of Ming dynasty blue and white, especially early Ming, Qing dynasty famille rose and falangcai ceramics. The Five Relations, or the Five Constants, were defined by Mencius Wentenggong as "Emperor and Officials, Father and Son, Husband and Wife, Elder and Young, Friends. Father and son should be close. Emperor and officials should have righteousness. Husband and wife should have difference. Elder and young should maintain order. Friends should have integrity. The Five Relations motif appeared in China since the Tang Dynasty and is commonly seen in paintings and Imperial artworks, such as jades and ceramics, etc. This vase was exquisitely painted. The enamels are of top quality. The shape is perfect. It is a revival of the top Imperial ceramic art of the Qianlong period of the Qing dynasty.
