Benjamin is an experienced regional business development strategy consultant. He owned and ran his own Asian business strategy consultancy firm, headquartered in Hong Kong, with a presence in key cities in Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia, for almost 20 years, before joining CNP Business Advisory as an equity partner and Managing Director.
Prior to his years in regional business strategy consultancy, he was a former senior political diplomat in the prestigious Singapore Government Foreign Service, in charge of Greater China and Southeast Asia. He was based in the Singapore Embassy in Beijing, and headed up key government-to-government projects including the Singapore-Suzhou Industrial Park Project. He worked alongside Singapore’s former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew as the latter’s interpreter, notetaker and assistant, and also covered key Singapore-Malaysia bilateral projects, as well as Singapore’s economic and political relationships with ASEAN countries. He subsequently became Executive Director for Asia, for Medical Services International.
In his years as a regional business strategy consultant, he has provide strategic consultancy and advisory to Fortune 50 companies in the Asia-Pacific region (GE, Dupont, Siemens, Philips, Dell, JP Morgan, Schroders), Asian conglomerates (PCCW, Hong Kong Telecom, Singtel, Redtone, Berjaya, Sime Darby, Sumitomo, Tokyu Group, HSBC, Bank of China), as well as Asian family businesses, governments and NGOs.
His areas of specialties include strategic market access in Asia, strategic partners search, business re-organisation and turnaround, organizational and financial strategy, sales and marketing strategy, business process re-design, business acquisition/divestment consultancy.
Benjamin has a BA(Hons) and MA from Cambridge University, UK, and a Masters in Public Administration from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Singapore. He has lived and worked in Beijing, Hong Kong and Singapore, and fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
